BIM / Engineering Coordination
Conceived to strengthen Mérida’s position as an international destination for business tourism, the Centro Internacional de Congresos de Yucatán comprises nearly 50,000 m² of flexible event halls, foyers, terraces, service areas, and public spaces, with capacity for up to 10,000 attendees. Based on the architectural and technical project information, MDL developed the construction BIM models required to translate the design into precise, coordinated, and executable building information.
MDL coordinated the architectural model with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialized engineering systems. Through an integrated BIM workflow, the team reviewed constructability, identified technical interferences, and consolidated information from the different disciplines before site execution. This process improved coordination, reduced potential conflicts during construction, and ensured consistency across models, drawings, and technical deliverables.
