MDL wasn’t born out of chance. It was born out of a conviction: that architecture and engineering deserve a smarter, more precise, and honest approach. Architect Juan Manuel Vargas Flores founded the firm with a simple yet powerful premise—to integrate technology, expertise, and design in one place, without excuses and without half-measures.
From day one, MDL committed to BIM when few in Mexico were taking it seriously. Not as a trend. As a work philosophy. As the only way to deliver technical information that truly serves a purpose—at every stage, for every stakeholder, in every project decision.
The first projects came through engineering. Modeling, documentation, technical precision. But the quality of the work spoke for itself. Soon, clients weren’t just asking for plans—they were asking for expertise. They were asking for design. They were asking for MDL at the decision-making table.
And MDL responded.
The firm grew without losing focus: interdisciplinary coordination, budgeting, resource management, construction supervision, and project execution. Each new capability was added with purpose, not for the sake of volume. What began as a remote office specializing in technology transformed into something more solid and ambitious: an architecture firm with character, a voice of its own, and results that speak for themselves.
Today, MDL is not defined by the tools it uses—it is defined by the judgment with which it makes decisions, the clarity with which it designs, and the mark it leaves on every project it touches.
That hasn’t changed since 2014. And it won’t change.
