Steel Structure Modeling and Detailing (LOD 400)

Our team led the development of fabrication-ready structural steel BIM models at Level of Development (LOD) 400. This involved detail modeling of heavy columns, beams, plates, and connections. In a high-complexity hospital project, where structural integrity and system paths are vital, the precision of our virtual models ensured that all structural components were fully validated before manufacturing, eliminating field fit-up errors.

Clash Detection and Assembly Coordination

MDL’s engineering coordination workflows integrated structural shop details with the architectural volume and MEP routing. Through multi-disciplinary model aggregation, over a thousand potential design interferences were identified and resolved in the digital environment. The resulting shop drawings (Planos de Taller) provided the fabricators and site teams with clear, coordinated instructions, significantly accelerating the execution phase and reducing waste.
